Subdued and Subtle – Pastel Thanksgiving 2020

This year we’re thinking about the holiday season pretty differently than in the past. With small-scale celebrations and limited (or no) travels, at Forrest Glover Design we are looking forward to embracing something lighter and more subdued this Thanksgiving and that’s what we’re drawing on for our inspiration.
A pastel color palette (heavy on pink for us) is giving us refreshing and restorative energy for the end of the year. Since a lot of us will be breaking from traditions this year at holidays, it feels fitting to approach our decor with a bit of the unexpected as well.
If you are looking for something a little more dark and moody for the holidays this year, check out our post from November 2018
We’re feeling inspired by all of the gorgeous colors of heirloom fruits and vegetables, and we’re not the only ones: we love seeing less traditional elements incorporated into floral arrangements and wreaths like this one by Yasmine Floral Design:
Pumpkins, squash and other heirloom produce can also be incorporated into your table setting for a soft and subtle decor.
If you’re fortunate enough to be in a temperate climate for the holiday, consider a simple set up outdoors.
And of course if you’re just too tired or busy, fresh flowers always make a statement and will elevate your table and your mood whether you arrange your own or get a stunning seasonal bouquet.
