Hotel PalMar - San Pancho, Nayarit
NOTE: I wasn’t able to complete this article before visiting Hotel Palmar last week. It is still one of my favorites in the area but has changes SIGNIFICANTLY as the entire town of San Pancho has. Just be wary. This is Mexico. I can’t say more.
I would have to say San Pancho and I have a beautiful past with just a couple of lovers’ quarles in the path. I met San Francisco, Mexico on an extended 10 day blind date with another cancer who seemed to just be beginning his midlife crisis. Story for another day perhaps. You might have to purchase my memoir for that one.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand. One of my favorite parts about that first trip was stumbling upon the Hotel Palmar. At the time, I was currently working on my first interior design and kitchen remodel project in Punta Mita, just on the other side of Sayulita from San Pancho. When I first stepped in the Pal’ Corazon suite, the design gods and muses whispered to me, “this is it!” I get my inspiration from everywhere, but this suite was exactly the stimulus I needed to unlock the flow to complete the design of that project. I have tried to show my undying love and devotion to this little boutique hotel ever since.
Hotel Palmar is a small, 15 room/suite hotel on Calle Latina America. I just noticed that their street number is the major angel number 777. No wonder I fell in love. I have stayed in many of the suites at this point and love most of them but definitely have my preferences. Pal’ Estar and Pal’ Cielo are probably my favorites to date. I have stayed a couple of nights in Pa’ La Luna, the enormous, indoor/outdoor double room suite with the outdoor kitchen. It’s really impressive but probably not as private as I would prefer and if you have issues with mosquitos, make sure you don’t go at the wrong time of year.
