Move over pink. It’s time to let the other subtle tones have their chance to shine at home.

Pink has reigned supreme in interior design for the last several years (think white walls, pink sofa, and that too hip cactus in the corner), but it’s time to mix it up when designing with its fellow muted tones like aloe and apricot. The best examples mix three or four pastel tones with something unexpected like copper. Like all interior designs, it’s best to keep the palette under control and sophisticated. If everything is over the top, the overall design will seem forced instead of cutting edge.
