Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Designer Crush: Sean Anderson and his Little Harbor Interior Design Remodel in Naples, Florida

Designer Crush: Sean Anderson and his Little Harbor Interior Design Remodel in Naples, Florida

When searching for images to feature on our blog for interior design Trends and Tendencias for 2023 & 2024 (link), particularly the trend towards Darker Wooden Furniture, I stumbled on this amazing project by Memphis, TN based designer Sean Anderson. The home that is featured is located in Naples, Florida and all images were photographed by Haris Kenjar.

Sean has always been one of my favorite southern designers (you can take the boy out of Alabama, but…). Even after living in Mexico full time for nearly 3 years after 14 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I still gravitate to many of the style I grew up with in the south.

As I will highlight below, Sean has incorporated many of our favorite, upcoming tendencias for the next few years in interior design and home remodeling. Some words and ideas just sound better in Spanish. I have never liked the word trend especially for interior design. Home design take such a long time to complete, and I truly believe if you design your home with pieces that you love and have collected over a long period of time the style will be timeless.

I’ve never been a super neutral person or designer so this tendencias caught me a little bit by surprise, but I am in LOVE the new trend towards pairing Warm Tones of Browns with Creams.

While not exactly an interior design trend, we are currently working on a blog post featuring Wall to Wall Draperies behind Beds, but this living room is a stunning example of Sean’s design knowledge of draperies and the way they can completely define and change the mood of a space.

Oddly (or not so oddly) enough, the Drapery Wall blog post is based on image from Sean Anderson, as well as designers Sarah Sherman Samuel, John De Bastiani, and Houston based Meg Lonergan.

Tie me up, Tie me down! We have been seeing leather straps, buckles, and other slightly fetishistic details in furniture for several years now. Sorry mom! I swear they didn’t raise me this way.

This is the original image I found on Pinterest from an article on desiretoinspire.net to illustrate the tendencia in residential interior design towards Dark Wooden Furniture.

I have loved using antique rugs in both bathroom and kitchen remodels for several years now.
